About Caitlin
Hello! Thank you for taking time to read our blog. I created sweet pickle when I graduated from The University of Georgia. I found I had a lot of time on my hands and I wanted something productive to do. I had always been a fan of baking, but I was always pretty terrible at it, so I decided to put a little more effort into my baking in hopes that I could have fewer mishaps.
A year later and I’m finally starting to see how much I have progressed! I don’t rely on recipes as much as I used to, I know the basics for most baked goods, and I have confidence! Every now and again I get a little ahead of myself and have a mistake or three, but that’s one the reasons I like to write about what I make, in hopes that you can avoid the mistakes I made.
I’m 24 and I live in Athens, Georgia, but I am originally from Atlanta and I do spend a good bit of time there. I graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in Comparative Literature in May of 2010. I am currently trying to figure out what I will spend the rest of my life doing, and cooking up a storm in the meantime.
In October my good friend Jordan joined sweet pickle and I couldn’t be more thrilled. She will be bringing lots of yummy recipes, stories about being a newlywed, and hopefully she will fill the void of southern cooking on this site! (I may be from the south, but I’m a yankee all the way!)
